In response to "Does the VAFC help with the Speedcraft kit?" question, the answer is yes, but barely. All it will help do is smooth the fuel map. I think the kit with just the fuel pressure regulator on it will make the car run really rich in boost.

The problem is that the VAFC doesn't detect boost levels, so therefore it assumes that if you're at full throttle that you're at full boost. Areas in between are kind of guesswork. It's a very basic setup, and it only controls fuel.

The optimal soltion would be to go with a setup like an EMS.

How's your car going by the way, CJB80? I've read your other threads about your turbo install.

Just barely.... Chris, c'mon man I picked up about 40 RWHP with dyno tuning using the V-AFC after the initial install on my car. I was only getting about 240 RWHP initially and with the V-AFC we got it around 280 RWHP... not what I would call 'barely'. I picked up about 8 RWHP with a bone stock car by adding the V-AFC.

In comparison to other piggy backs and also in comparison to stand alones the VAFC is very weak. I wasn't aware of how much power you picked up, that tells me that the fuel pressure regulator is not tuned very well at all.... (It's 12:1, perhaps it should be calibrated to deliver less fuel...)

It was okay up to the point of VTEC engagement but was incredibly rich after VTEC... after raising VTEC and taking out considerable amounts of fuel above VTEC everything seemed fairly well tuned.
