Default Spindle nut retorque

I have a 2001 AP1. Does anyone recommend retorquing the spindle nuts when the car doesn't have a click. I have all the proper tools, even new nuts. Just wondering if this should be considered preventative maintenance?

I'm in the same boat, I've decided to put it off in favour of other items right now. But the thought of doing it comes to me every so often. I kind of think that it the problem hasn't surfaced then the nuts are probably installed sufficiently.
