I'm in the process of purchasing a Spoon flywheel and clutch cover (ie pressure plate) and am curious about a post I thought I read in the past on someone commenting that the organic (ie non-puck) Spoon clutch disk was simply an OEM unit (though much more pricey). I'd like to try and save some money here if it is in fact simply a OEM clutch.
If not, can anyone speak from any experience on the organic Spoon clutch disk? The above solution (plus release and pilot bearing changes) are mainly to correct an out of warranty clutch buzz on my 30xxx, 00' S2000. It's more or less bone stock, but I have big plans for her in the near future (possible FI mod, definite diff mod).

Well, I got my new Spoon clutch kit (flywheel, clutch cover, release and pilot bearings, and 3-puck clutch) for 932.00 shipped via a pretty decent ebay deal. I didn't want the 3-puck Spoon clutch, but I just couldn't pass the deal up.

Hate to beat a dead horse here, but if there is anyone in the know about this out there--is the Spoon clutch disk a reworked OEM unit? If so, what are the differences? I'm pretty sure I'm going to sell the 3-puck at this point and get the latest OEM clutch disk. Seems that most people are pretty happy matching ACT's pressure plate and an OEM clutch.

Any help?

the full faced spoon clutch disk is a strengthened OEM clutch disk. however, since it is, you may get that 2nd and 3rd gear decelleration buzz that was a tsb for the '00 and '01 s2000's. do some research on this forum and you'll see what im talking about.

I looked at mine and they both looked same.
But I still installed it and very satified.
It grabs alot stronger while driveablity is almost same as stock. But prideauxx..Spoon clutch is not for FI set up.
It only offers 30% over stock power which is far below any FI's output
