Default Spoon thin head gasket - how much power?

Anyone have any solid data on what sort of gains can be expected from raising the compression ratio w/ the Spoon thin headgasket? I'm not limited to 91 octane here in the east and 93 is readily available. That should be enough to prevent knock. Any thoughts?

While this may not be an answer, it might provide a useful metric.

The JDM S2000 is rated at 247hp using a 11.7:1 compression ratio.
The USDM S2000 is rated at 240hp using a 11.0:1 compression ratio.

spoon head gasket supposedly bumps up compression by 0.3...so if you slap this on a USDM S2K will that give you 11.3? beats me....

the spoon pistons and head gasket combo reportedly pumps out 12.1...

Wonder what our ECU would do to that? Also, wonder if that would require race gas?

Probably not, but you might want to run 92 octane.

It seriously doesn't sound like there is much to gain for the effort here. Maybe 2-3hp if anything.

There were a ton of threads on this subject a year ago, it might be worth perfoming a search.

Yep, 250PS = 266.5HP.

Shamu has the Spoon Balanced Pistons and also has the high compression headgasket.

"Beyond any reasonable doubt, this made a HUGE difference!!! The car pulls so much harder, and this is all under VTEC for now since I need to go through a re-break in period!"

So I'd assume it would be more than just 2-3HP.
