It isn't technically countersunk, but without the nut in place it sits pretty low.

man, i just put mine on yesterday. it is much lower than stock. countersunk or not, it sits low enough now that i don't need to raise my hand much to grab the shifter, i can just rest it on the center console and just barely reach up to grab the spoon shifter. the throws are much shorter now too, took me all day today to get used to it.

well, it is pretty weightless, not much more than a couple of coins. however, when i held it when i first took it out of the box i was actually pretty iffy about its weight, i wasn't sure if it would provide a solid throw. once i put it on, it was definitely different, but once i got used to it, it became a very natural feel and motion, then after that, you just don't think about it anymore.

Titanium is heavier than aluminum. If the Spoon Ti is ligher than the aluminum OEM, then it can't contain much Ti and the rest must be made of balsa wood.

Titanium is denser than aluminum, but it is also much stronger, so you need less thickness of it to maintain comparable strength to aluminum. As a result, the products made from Ti are lighter.

Anyways, back to the knob.

Dave, the Spoon knob is hollow inside. Think of a titanium egg shell and you have the idea.

And it is truly brilliant. Without a big, heavy stock Al or Ti knob on the end of the stick to dampen vibrations and motions, you feel EXACTLY what the gearbox is doing. It's absolutely the best thing. I love mine.

This is the first version of the Spoon Ti knob, I have the second version now and it is only a tad heavier.

It definitely sits lower than stock - it might be a tad higher than my old Voodoo knob.

......these pictures are over a year old now.

OK, air will always be lighter than balsa wood.

Personally, I opted for the solid Ti Voodoo knob for the express purpose of having a heavier weight on the end of the stick to dampen the extra vibrations coming through due to the presence of the blower. I found the vibration to be quite disconcerting.
