Yes - the Spoon knob is hollow. And I agree with you Dave - I have both the Spoon and the Voodoo. I kept my voodoo because it is heavier and use it when going on aggressive drives. I daily drive with the Spoon knob though - in the winter it takes it all of 2 seconds to warm up to my touch (because it is hollow) and in the summer it takes maybe 3 seconds to cool down to my touch.

Be careful of which version you buy though. The first version broke on me (the threads inside busted) because the Titanium was too thin. The second version has had all the benefits of the first but the added strength to not have to worry about it breaking. I have also found the second version to give off less of the vibration sounds the first did (before it broke)

What did you modify? Those pics are so HUGE, it's hard to get a frame of reference on what you are trying to show.

im about to order my OEM Ti knob......i had a voodoo knob but i didnt like it cuase i could feel the vibrations and everything in the tranny when i shifted...not to mention the ball shape ....a heavy knob is so much smoother and easier on the hand when shifting

 

It looks like he's countersunk the threads as well. It appears to be sitting much lower than stock.

 

That would make more sense since driilling into a big ball of Ti (even if its pure, crappy natural Ti) will probably chew up drill bits. Im guessing these are not 3/2.5 or some other stronger Ti alloy?
