Does the Spoon X-Brace interfere with oil changes?

Yes, it does. The oil drips down onto the brace and into the two holes. I used to make a small, shallow aluminum foil tray to keep it clean but this was almost as much hassle as it was mopping up the oil off the brace. For what the brace does for me (nothing), sometimes I just want to remove it and use it for a clothes hanger. But I spent good money on it and DAMNIT, it's going to WORK!

I was looking into buying one of these to clear my Spoon xi-brace. Some sites I've been to say you need an additional adapter for the SA. Do you know which model you purchased? Is the nipple an extra part? Any place you can reccommend to buy from? Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for all the questions.

I bought mine directly from fumoto and got the
F-106N(w/Nipple) & Adapter ADP-106. The nipple appears
to be a screw-in fitting but came assembled as a single unit.

I also have the spoon x-brace and oil drainage is no problem
at all with the fumoto.

I highly recommend this valve.

it takes an additional 2 minutes to clean up the splash from the x brace... people make it sound so bad... it's not.

I had the Spoon X-Brace, sold it and got the Cusco version instead. Cusco is much better and does not interfere with oil changes.

exactamundo......even though the splash can be cleaned easily, why bother....with the valve an oil change is even more simple than before...well worth the $24-30 (can't remember)
