You can't just put a new bearing in it and go. Well I mean you can but, most likely you will cause more damage to the motor. If you spun a rod bearing, the crank journal will be scared up. You need machine work, and possibly have the crank cut to .010 and run .010 bearings.

i have a 2.0l engine but a new 2.2l crank and crower rods laying around would it work to pull the engine out and install the crank rods and bearings myself? what would it cost from a machine shop to do all the work along with new rings and a cylinder hone? i have a fully built head laying around as well that i would like to slap on... does that need professional attention as well? any imput would be great i have 50k invested into the car and i really want to get her back up and running
