Doesn't sound like the Idle Air Control Valve; when mine went bad it typically raised the revs (and caused them to oscillate). But, what goes up must come down and I guess there's no reason that it couldn't be causing your problem. Pretty easy to clean, that solves problems temporarily. Small box on the side of the intake manifold, 2 hoses going in the top (coolant) a plug in the back that's a bit tricky to get at and 3-4 bolts (can't remember, sorry). Get some carb cleaner, clean it out, put it back the way you found it and see what happens.

Hope this helps!

Hate to be a pain, but any chance of a more descriptive title. Some thing like "Car bucking and stuttering". It ain't that hard and it helps people with a similar problem find this thread now and in the future.

It could be a number of things, probably the map though. The "Map Whack" wont necessarily help a fried map....

OK, I don't want to pick on you in particular... but I've seen this response a lot (except it used to be "PM xviper" or "PM ultimate lurker" instead of billman). I just don't think this is really a good response. I'm sure billman will be able to offer some technical input/advice... but if I were a technical expert, I wouldn't want a gajillion people PMing me all the time and filling up my inbox (especially for topics that have previously been covered on this board). billman spends plenty of time on this board, and reads threads in UTH on a regular basis. I'd assume if he had time to read this thread and wanted to provide input, he would. I don't think we should be telling people to send him a PM with their problems instead of just allowing the thread to run its normal course and getting input from the entire community.

That's just my take on things (and by no means a personal attack on your advice, gomarlins3).

Also, as Aus said... a more descriptive title would help "the experts" decide if they want to waste their time reading a particular thread. To the OP, you may want to edit your original post and change the title to help your cause.

Change the title I know. It has ALREADY been addressed. Thanks.

Anyways, I can unplug the map while the car is running and it starts to idle really rough and dies. So I would think the MAP is working correctly. Fuel filter maybe?
