Squeaking Brake Pedal
The brake pedal on my 2002 s2k intermittently squeaks when it is depressed. The sound is not loud, but just enough to be irritating. Have had it in to the dealer 4 times, but they have been unable to duplicate the problem (grrrrrrrrrrrrrr). Lubricating the pivot of the brake pedal doesn't correct the problem. Anybody had this problem? Any ideas on what is causing it? Could it be the piston on the master cylinder? Could it have anything to do with humidity? Many thanks.
If you can duplicate the noise when the car is sitting still, then it is most likely in the master cylinder. I seem to recall that there were a couple of reported cases where the master cylinder was acting up and replacement was the answer.
If you can only duplicate it when actually trying to stop the car, then it's in the brake pad/rotor. You may have picked up some grit and it got logged between the braking surfaces. It may stop on its own or it may not.

Thanks very much, appreciate the help. Out of about 20 plus tries, I thought I got the squeak one time while sitting still. I'll keep trying to make sure it wasn't my imagination. Most times it happens while moving. The thing that concerns me is that the sound seems to come from under the floor boards by the brake pedal and not from the wheels. When the rotors and pads squeak, it's a different sound from a different location. By the way, this has been happening since about January of this year. Thanks again.
