Default squeaking springs

I just got my KGMM Supersports installed, and when I go slowly over large bumps, there's a large creaking/squeaking sound... anybody know? Was something supposed to be compressed before the car was let down??

hmmm the only thing i could think of is the spring isnt properly seated into the base of the shock. where did you get them installed, maybe you should bring it back there. i've done many spring installs before and have never had this problem.

Got my supersports installed on Friday - tight as can be. A little high in the back but perfect in the front. No rubbing, scraping or weird handling quirks - ride is excellent. Will reserve final judgement after the springs settle and alignment is adjusted and have an auto-x or track day or two...

I got a similar mod done to my Hyundai Excel (my project abandoned as soon as I bought the S2000)

The guy who installed them said it just takes a while for the springs to settle and a bit hard driving helps them settle quickly. He said about 1 - 2 months usually... In reality most the noise was gone after 3 months, but it took 6 months to completely get rid of them.

whew... really? It takes THAT long to settle? I thought they settle within the week, and I got my alignment done after a few days when I got the springs installed. I guess I'll give it time...

Lig, I agree, a bit high in the back and pinched in front... wish it was just a little more even, but the ride, you won't be disappointed at the track!!

Hey DJSang -

That's good news. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I'm probably going to hit the last auto-x of the season...

Hoping my rear settles a bit... :-)

I'm looking at my fellow posters in this thread. Am I allowed? It looks like a DJ only thang here...

For what it's worth, I do have an MC-505 groovebox and a SP 202 baby sampler!

hehe...

Sadly - I have zero dj skillz. :-(

First auto-x today with the new springs. Can't say for sure whether it was the tire/rim setup or the springs but the car was much easier to drive than on the S02's. More linear in the breakaway. I liked it very much. The overall handling was neutral and if you wanted oversteer just jam on the gas.

The only thing that held my car back from better times today was ummm... me.
