Start button and ignition
When I want to start my car, I turn the key in the ignition and press the start button. Often it does not start. In that event, I hold the start button down and turn the key in the ignition from off to on, repeatedly and it eventually starts.
when it does not start there is no noise, no clicks, it seems to be dead. The I depress the start button and turn the key off to on, until it eventually starts.
hope this is clear, i do my best.
thanks for asking for clarification

You have a bad ignition switch. Not the button, the key switch. The keyed lock stays the same, you're just replacing the electrical switch that is behind the key lock. So you keep your existing key.
I've had to do this repair on other cars, but not the S. Those other cars it was easy, other than getting to it, getting the plastic covers off. Not sure how difficult it is with the S.

It could just be the actual push start button. I had that happen to me and i figured out it was that because it was very touchy and when it didnt start it made no starter noise at all. So i got pissed off (was stuck at school for hours) i broke the button and closed the circuit that the button was supposed to close/open and the car started. Ordered a nee one and it presses right in
