I felt like beer last night, and car didn't start after short cranking at grocery parking lot.

see what happened lol

Please tell me that's what it looked like after you disassembled it...?
Even still, that's a tremendous amount of damage. I think typically starters will fail due to the electric potential not having enough "juice" to be able to engage the pinion gear. I've never seen anything like that though....

A weak battery will destroy the field coils in a starter.

It isn't weak battery. I replaced battery one year ago, and it has been strong. I have no idea what caused this. The starter didn't sound good for a month, and it died.

@jkelley yes it is how it looked after I disassemble it lol
