Thanks for all the tips guys!
I did only post as a vent, and it was the top starter motor bolt I was chasing to get the trans off.
Ended up attaching a socket with an extension from the bottom, then wrenching from the top.

On the Civic Si, I should have been more specific. Compared to that the S2k was cake.
