Default starting noise

Hello! New member here, with an '07 that I bought new, 39,000 on the clock now. More often than not, I get a wheezy, grindy noise following the starting of the car, lasting about a second. This happens mostly when the temperature outside is 60 degrees or less. Any clues before I take it in?

I get a similar noise right after the car is started that lasts about a second. Haven't figured out what it is so interested if anyone has solved this. BTW, I drive a 06.

I believe I've read in the past it's due to the starting staying engaged too long. Search for the grind at start.

You need a new starter. Cold weather is when it's first noticed.
