Default Steering Adjustment

My steering wheel turns easier to the left then the right. It seems loose when turned to the left. Is there a way to reset the electronic steering for fix this problem?

No electronic adjustment is available that will fix this.

The rack is probably bent, or the car was driven through standing water and has corroded the rack internally.

Ever been wrecked?

check the torque sensor first before replacing the rack, i had this problem on my car, swapped out a friends torque sensor and the steering was back to normal.

if you jack up the car and start it, you may also notice that the steering wheel automatically goes to full lock left these are the same symptoms i had.

This is interesting you are having a similar issue as I have.

I have a 2007 model and have previously posted a complaint where I notice that when the steering wheel is returning to center, it does so nicely on the left-to-center but on the right-to-center it is a couple of degrees short.

When I sling the steering wheel it wants to almost always go back to that point as opposed to dead center.

I have had my car to three different dealerships and one external third party shop. The alignment is in perfect specifications, no bent suspension parts, and I have had all tires checked numerous times for balance, pressure and air.
The car has never been in a wreck and only has 10500 miles.

I even went as far as replacing the two front tires.

Does anyone else notice this?

I drove another 2007 model and did not think it did what mine did but after the dealer kept my car for a day and then has multiple techs drive the car, put it on the rack, check the computer and then tell me nothing is wrong, I am not sure at this point what I can do ?

The car does not pull, it steers fine otherwise but just the return to center is not the same for both sides and it is annoying because I would think a quality car like this should have even force for steering on both sides.

I know certain things are manufactured with a"Standard deviation" and maybe while the computer shows no problem, something in my steering is at the "limit" of what is considered in specs but still not 100% even.

I have seen other people post about resetting the torque senson netural sensor but I have only seens the steps for the 2000-2003 models. I'm wondering at this point if there is anything else I can do ? Or is what I am experiencing rather normal ?

Any suggestions are appreciated.
