Default Step Colder Plugs

I have just a couple questions about running step colder plugs, I've done some search but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. Anways...

I'm looking at replacing my spark plugs, putting out about 225whp/165tq I thought it might be beneficial to take advantage of a step colder plug. I live in the Bay Area; during the summer I see 105f summers, and low 30f winters. Will these be okay year round? Also, most gapping information I can find is either on OEM plugs or Turbo'd apps. What should I be gapping these at on a N/A motor?

Btw I'm looking at the NGK BKR8EIX-I (2668) variety, if there are any other step colder plugs that are worth checking out, please feel free to let me know.

Just one question, why not the IFR8H-11 plug? The gap would not grow over time with the IFR8H-11 plug. As for the gap you want to use as wide of a gap as you can and since your not boosted I would go with the stock gap. For my '06 that is .039 to .043

I decided to go one step colder and I also live in the bay area I have had them in for a couple of months now and no issues I am also running the 2668 plugs you mentioned. I added them when I added a test pipe and flashpro I'm running the toda tune. I used the stock gap.044.

Don't think you'll see a benefit on a stock NA motor. If you're not losing spark or detonating, you're pretty much only doing it to say you did it.

I remember reading on here where someone was tuning with flashpro and was detecting knock when tuning seemed as if it was running right on the knock sensor when tuning this person decided to switch to a heat range colder plug, the one mentioned above and tuned again and it was more resistant to knock. This was on a NA car. Seems like a benefit to me and as long as your not fouling the plugs no harm done. I wanted to switch to iridium anyway figured i would give it a shot.
