Default Stops reving at 5-7k when temp gauge is low

When I try to get above about 5k rpms when first starting off when the car has been off for awhile and the temp gauge is low I get stuck and it won't go any higher than 5 k-6k almost like it gets stuck in vtec or hitting the rev limiter. What's my problem?

First post guys so don't grill me if I did it wrong

Works as designed. Honda blocks Vtec on a cold engine.

The car will not exced 6,400 Rpm when "cold" (AP1). Many peeps use 3 bars of temp, again AP1, as a reference to when your good to go. Someone can give the AP2 bar rule as I don't know it off the top of my head. In reality the temp relates to oil viscosity. The cut off is actually regulated by fluid pressure to the V-TEC solenoid which is affected by temperature. Cold fluid is thicker and does not provide enough pressure.

Cold oil creates higher oil pressure, not lower.

I agree. The thicker oil creates more resistance throughout the oiling system causing higher oil pressure. Once warmed up, oil pressure will drop as the resistance drops.
