Default Strange New Sound

Hey everyone...
After having the car sit in the garage overnight and getting in it to go to work in the morning, I've been noticing an intermittent "popping" sound when backing up. Engaging the clutch - putting it in reverse and as soon as the wheels start moving "POP!!". Almost like a grinding noise, I can feel it thought the seat of the car too. It doesn't last long, just on the initial movement of the car backing up.... Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Just picked the car up about 6 weeks ago, 06 Berlina and it's been flawless...except for this. Think maybe it's something along the lines of the rear axle or a shock mount slipping. Any info would be appreciated.

One of two things, brakes are sticking or you need to re-torque the axle nut.

Pop the center cap on your rear wheels, remove the axle nut, apply grease to the axle nut, torque to 210-220lb.

Don't jack up the car, you'll just spin the engine

If you washed the car the previous day or drove in the rain or it's very humid where you live, it's likely the brake pads rusted onto the rotor when you applied the ebrake. This is normal.
The loose axle nut click is as you accelerate off from a dead stop.

You can reduce this "CCCRRACK" sound after you wash the car if you roll it a bit and NOT use the ebrake. Just park it in 1st or reverse. Next time you back out, it will only snap a bit.

Happens to me, I am still in denial that the brakes would be so obnoxious
