Default Strange Noise off Idle

Hi All,

Found a thread about transmission whines which are bearing related, this noise I originally thought was exhaust, as it sounded more ... "windy".. Or more of a rumble I guess? Its not noticeable at idle, but at ~2.5k can be heard.. More noticeable if actually driving. Clutch in or out doesn't seem to make any difference.

Local Honda shop have quoted 5-6 hours to pull the transmission and "take a look".. Another mechanic friend has said he thinks its Engine..

Found a couple of other Youtube videos with a similar noise, but neither had any comments, so hoping someone here can help shine a proverbial light.

Bit of info on the car:
MY09 - UK Import so has F20c
Car is stock other than intake kit

Had a service at Honda 3 weeks prior.

Dont notice any kind of shuddering, or power loss.. Still feels fine to drive, just noisy.

I'm not 100% but I think one of the guys did try that and it didnt go away.

When I get the car back from Honda i'll be sure to test that and confirm for sure

Plugs as in Spark plugs?

If so, they didnt replace them, and I have since it started making the noise replaced them.

As a further update - got the car back from Honda, gave it to another mechanic, who took one listen and said he was 99% sure it was the "Big End Bearing" - but would need to take a look to be 100%

The car has done 160,000ks (100,000 miles), and been regularly serviced.. I know that "sh*t happens" but generally speaking Is this normal? Or is it likely Honda messed up somehow during the service? Would there be any way to even prove they messed it up if they had?

What "service" did the dealer perform? Honda didn't do anything but the dealer may have although an oil change is difficult to screw up.
