Hey Chuck,

Well yes, valid point.. Not trying to point the finger at Big Daddy Honda, but suspicious of the local Honda dealer.

Standard fluids / filters etc.. Invoice doesnt specify what oil was used other than "Bulk Honda FEO" - which from a google search FEO is 10w30 which should be correct viscosity?

What is the likelyhood of big end bearing failure after 100k miles of "natural causes" ?
Or is it more likely the dealer has slipped up somehow, given its ~350 miles after the oil change?

I do drive it semi-hard (very relative statement, I know) - VTEC exists for a reason after all - but I wouldn't say I thrash it at all.. A lot of my k's are town driving to / from work, and it has always had yearly service for the 13 years i've owned it.

Yeah, new mechanic has now confirmed.. Sent me a photo of the oil pan where it looks like he's been panning for gold with a good number of chunky bits in the bottom..

What are the chances that the dealer accidentally ran the engine without oil during the service??? Greater than 0% I would guess.
