Default Strong Vibration from front

Ok, I don't drive this fast very often, but I haven't noticed anything even up to 80mph before. Recently, my only changes were brakes on all 4 wheels (pads & rotors), oil, and tranny fluid.

My first guess is to check the lug nuts, make sure they are all there, and that they are all torqued properly. Then, possibly the wheel balancing.

What the symptom really is, is a very stong vibration, shakes everything and I can really feel it in the steering wheel. It is really only prominant above 95 is a fairly good turn...happened in turns going both directions, vibration was reduced when brakes were applied. The vibration is also not nearly as bad when tracking a straight line. And when driving straight or even shallow turns up to 85...its relatively undetectable, but increases exponentially as speed increases and tightness of turn increases.

Anyway, I will be checking the wheels tomorrow (would check now, but car is 1 hour away for the night getting her clear bra).

I'm just trying to get ideas to try and look for if the lugs don't fix it, and also just things to look for before I start driving it. If you guys think of any ideas that would be great, thanks,

Eric

I think you've covered all the most probable bases with "lug nuts and wheel balancing."

I'd check before doing highway driving if you have a chance. I know of one member who spun out because of his unbalanced wheel.
(The wheel vibrated enough and messed up the sidewall of the tire, etc...)

Ya, I'm going to bring all my tools with me and check the car out before I start driving it. I hope its just lug nuts and not something like a ball joint.

If it's happening during turning at high speed, it might be your shocks. How many miles on them?

You sure it is coming from the front? Does it happen primarily when accelerating while turning? If so, it may be the rear inner CV...which commonly go bad especially with lowered cars.

However, if not and you have already had the wheels rebalanced...then at that milage I would be looking at the shocks and the lower a-arm bushings.
