Default Stuck Clutch Pedal Adjusting bolt

I have installed a new clutch master cylinder and completed a gravity bleed. I am attempting to adjust the play in the pedal, but I cannot seem to break the 12mm bolt loose. I’ve tugged on it as hard as I feel comfortable doing.
Am I missing something here? I did this on my old master and it was pretty straight forward.

First off, its a 12 mm nut on a shaft, not a bolt. Are you sure you're turning it in correct direction?

Sorry...nut. Yes, I even tested my old master to make sure I wasn’t crazy.

Its just a jam nut that tightens against another threaded 'nut' (the threaded metal braket of pedal assembly). If you're sure you're turning the correct direction, its time for escalating levels of brute force.

First off, an open end wrench is probably going to slip, rounding off the nut. Do you have 12mm flare nut wrenches? The kind used to loosen brake fittings. They are more like a box wrench with a slot cut out. So they'll take more torque before they slip.

Or a honkin big set of vise grips.

Ok got it...more grip and more leverage.

Thanks for the help, locking pliers did the trick! Oddly enough, 12mm flare wrench was slightly too small for the nut but the 12mm combo fit fine.
