Stuck Trunk

Default Stuck Trunk

I just installed my carbon fiber trunk and closed it for test fitment and forgot to plug in the cable to the electronic open switch the glove compartment. Now i can't open it. What can I do now?

You will have to go through the panel behind the seat, and stick like a long pole, close hanger type deal through the opening, past the spare tire, and then past the rear trunk trim (might need some force to get those close lose)then to try to access the emergency trunk release. This is the method that I've seen posted and used many times.

where is the emergency trunk release is it on the trunk hook lock? is it a button or lever? can't picture anything in my head

Its on the trunk latch itself (the plastic piece that you had to bolt to the trunk using the 3 bolts), it glows in the dark, its a latch that you have to move it to the left to manually release the trunk. If you use a flash light you can probably see it. Its the emergency trunk release latch.

holy crap, do MY00 s2ks have that? i don't remember seeing that lever thing but i guess ill fine out tonight

02 does. I actually had to go into the garage to check...I've never noticed that before. If it helps, that's part of the latch mechanism on the trunk lid, not the catch in the trunk bottom.

Yeah, I don't think the 00 have them. So you have a huge problem if you did not hook up the key cylinder to the latch. I think you would have to pull a lot of the interior out of the car to get access to hook up the wire to open it.
