i actually did but it was a small tiny latch that didn't even look like the one in the picture. i couldnt find it in the beginning. i was able to reach it and plug in the wire...it wasn't until after the trunk was open that i looked closely and found it.

I can't seem to find the latch. i have the same issue. Do you have any idea where it is or what its near to? is it on the passenger or driver side?

I can open my trunk/boot with the ignition key. There are some without this standard feature?

Not hard to find. Even with the non-OEM sticker back there.

Thats what went through my head as well, until he said he hadn't hooked up the key lock to the mechanism either!

I obviously missed he'd disconnected both means to open the trunk!
