Hello. I have tried searching the forums for a solution to my issue but haven't found anything exactly specific to my issue. I was driving on the highway and in 6th gear gave it a little gas and the car started stuttering like crazy. RPMs started dropping and I put it into neutral and coasted to a stop. I turned the car off and then on and the issue went away for about 5 minutes but then started happening again. What was happening at first was that the car would start up and idle fine. Revving it would feel fine too, and even backing out in reverse gear would feel normal. I have changed the spark plugs since and cleaned the map sensor. At first there was no CEL but after cleaning the map, the CEL came on and now the car does not even idle correctly, it stalls. I'm going to get a code reader and see what the cel might be, but besides that I'm at a loss. Has anything like this happened to anyone before? If you put the car into gear, the engine stutters and rpms start to drop.

 

Which car? Your profile and signature photo don't match.

CEL is normally an emissions issue but you need to read the codes.

Yeah. Post the CEL codes.

 

So it turns out the ground wire to the map sensor is ripped off somehow. The CEL was P0108 so I am hoping that is the true source of the issues.
