I doubt you could run that kind of boost on a Comptec or Vortec SC. The pulley wound be too small and belt slip would be unmanageable.

The Vortech V2SQ is not rated to be used with a cog drive. You would have to upgrade to one of the HD use SC's. (T-trim) Plus the custom work building a cog drive. You'd have just as much $ in the upgraded SC and drive as a turbo will cost.

I would think you'd be close to overspinning the blower with a pulley that small.

Good point, I read that the Paxton blower is only good up to I think 14 psi maybe less. That would be maxing it out.

20vmini, do you have a goal of how much hp you want or is this one of those hypothesis threads?

At max impeller speed with the V2SQ, you will get around 15psi on a stock f20c. Anything more than this and you will get excessive slippage with the serpentine belt. This is why I am going turbo.

Boost is more addictive than most ppl think

20vmini, i've tried to post my dyno with the 14psi v2sq but wedidtoddracing.com is down. If you look for my posts under the 400hp thread or the designing a cog belt thread you will see the dyno.

Basically boost is boost. There is little difference between the 2 systems in generating power excluding some minor difference in efficiency. The supercharger lacks midrange (compare to the turbo) and is safer for our weak drivetrain. If you go turbo, you should detune the midrange or spend some more money to upgrade the drivetrain.
