Thumbs up switching coolant

What is the timeframe in which some sort of chemical reaction should occur between:

coolant/antifreeze (type 2), distilled/bottled water, and RED LINE water wetter?

I have them mixed in a bottle to verify some threads I have read regarding compatibility. Also, if I do a COMPLETE flush, do I need 6.5 liters or 7 liters. I plan to run:

1 liter of (type) 2,
6 oz of water wetter
and the rest distilled water.

Thanks, I advance.

Water Wetter is a fine product when water rather than coolant is used for race cars but is not needed when you use modern coolant in a street car.

when I had chemical reactions on past Hondas it was as the stuff percipitated on cool down of the coolant, showing up as brown deposits. Redline said it was normal and not a problem, I wouldn't use it anymore though, not really needed on a street car IMO.

are you sure that was due to the compatibility of the product and your antifreeze? from what i understand, this stuff is supposed to "clean" your cooling system. as a result, maybe it was the brown stuff?

I wouldn't drain brand new coolant in a 08 to add water wetter. The cooling system is not marginal to begin with. The OEM coolant last years, requires no additives to lubricate the water pump and will not corrode aluminum.

Can't say the same thing about water and water wetter.

This is what you need.

Get all that water out of your coolant system.

Coolant change interval is 100k miles. And if you introduced some bottled water, that's fine, its a 50:50 mix anyway so a bit more water isn't going to hurt.

if you put in a lot of tap water though then maybe its a good idea to flush it out since there's minerals and such in regular tap water.
