As for spark plugs, are there any signs that you need to replace them?
spark plug, you need to visuall inspect them, which means pulling them out

since its at idle, it can be TCT or noisy valves which need valve adjustment.

TCT noise ticking would increase with increased rev's...

otherwise its a valve adjustment that needs to be done.

If its a MY00 as your sig indicates I would have them adjusted just for peace of mind. Its less than 150 bucks at the dealer. It may also be the TCT as it is a wear part. That piece is only 130ish at the dealer and can be installed in less then 10 minutes with very simple tools in your garage.

I inspect my valves/retainers routinely around every 10,000 miles. The OEM spark plugs should last over 100,000 miles on an unmodified engine.

can't really hear it at idle, when i'm slowly accelerating, at around 3000rpm you can hear a fast tapping sound... its really faint, about 4000rpm the engine noise drowns out the noise... hopefully it is a valve adjustment problem?
