Its gone now but I was wondering what u guys thought it was.....it was a tap that counded like it was comming from the exhaust or mayb the head? I know my S has an exhaust leak, it wasnt tapping faster when i revved and it only did it when the car was driven for a while. It was about 5taps a second....do you guys think it was just the exhaust? sory for the lack of info

oh yeh, and like i said, it didnt get faster with accel, it went away around 2k rpm

 

It could be anything. Since I can't hear it, I won't guess what else it could be

 

well it only did it randomly, mostly when it was ran a while, but sometimes not even then....and now it dosent do it anymore, it seemed to stop when i added some oil, but it didnt sound like valve ticking...i dunno, thanks anyway, except no thanks for tryin to scare me with the knocking lol

probably oil......your burning the oil possibly and its making that ticking sound? how many miles you got on that 01?

 

41000 miles...it was rebuilt 2500 miles ago and the previous owner used synthestic, so its consuming a little more that normal....it was just right below the low mark when i added some

 

oh, and it still does it randomly, like i said, oil is good now, and its only after a long drive....but most of the time it dosent make any noises
