Default TCT bolt keeps snapping!

Well about 4 days ago I was replacing my tct and when I went tighten the 2 bolts that secure it to the engine, the right one just snapped in half! It took me 20 mins with pliers to unscrew the other half out of the engine block, and went yesterday and ordered 2 new ones, about 15 mins ago I go to try to put the new tct in again and the left one snapped in the exact same place. So I took both bolts out again and the other bolt was almost in half also. I tightened them with my torque wrench on 8.8lbs why is this happening??

What size is your torque wrench? 1/2", 3/8", 1/4"?

No need for a torque wrench. It may be at the bottom of its range.
