Default TCT Fix

Hi so I've opened up my TCT and sanded down the worm gear with a grade 180 sandpaper roll (couldnt find a sandblaster) and now Im stuck because I cant find a bolt to keep the piston retracted (the one with the wing nut). Can I install it like that?
Do I have to spin the worm gear as down as it can go?

You'll need an M4or m5 bolt, nut and washer. Spin the TCT Down as far as you can get it, then screw in the bolt with a washer and nut already screwed on it 5 or 15 threads, spin the washer and nut down so it's tight and let go... Install the main body, remove the nut/bolt/washer, install the cap back on it

Sorry i dont remember if it's m4 or m5, if memory serves me correct its m5 x .75

No. You cannot install the tensioner without retracting it. Doing so will destroy the engine beyond repair.

Retracting bolt is 5mm .80 thread, about 1.750 inches long, or longer.

Just get a Billman unit. Save yourself endless headaches. It's a one time charge and you never have to worry about your chain for the life of the engine. Cheaping out on engine parts can get expensive.
