Default TCT? Help!

Hi there! I haven't posted in awhile but I have been getting this issue and it's really starting to annoy me now. Now i know there a lot a lot of TCT threads but there's a reason why I'm starting this. I've already replaced the TCT and I still have this issue so I'm hoping you guys can help.

So here it is..
https://youtu.be/CoyPpTt1NUI

The noise isn't there when it's cold. Only when the car gets to its optimum temperature. The noise seems to vanish past 2k Rpm..All the fluids have been changed and it doesn't seem to be burning oil. It's a MY05 and it's been to Honda twice.

It's incredibly loud when I'm next to a car. I haven't noticed any performance issues but it's obvious that there's something not right here. Could it still be the TCT?

Apologies for the state of the bay. It's next on the list.

TCT noise 100%, most evident at 20-24 seconds.

The TCT was bought off eBay and was described as a brand new genuine part. Honda installed the TCT.

Could there be any other part at play here? Or are Honda messing me about?

Maybe there are two things at play here.

Ebay TCT? that's no good.

Honda dealer install? I believe the TCT needs to be custom adjusted based in your timing chain slack. I don't think you just slap it in as is.(but I'm not 100%) Billman?

You just "slap it in." Don't forget to pull the pin after installation.

I'd cut my losses and install -- slap in -- a new Billman Gen-X TCT. Takes 10 minutes with the right wrench.

Yeah, I'm certainly thinking that way too. Honda had the cheek to tell me it was my oil level last time around that was at half way.

Where can one buy one of these little miricles?

Thanks for all the help by the way guys. Very much appreciated.

You like that one ey? haha. I wasn't sure if it needed some type of adjustment when installed.

OP, PM Billman250, he'll set you up with a lifetime guaranteed TCT.

Here are some details from Billmans Repair thread:
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/537...air-thread-iv/
Billman Motion Generation X Modified S2000 TCT (Timing Chain Tensioner)
-3 years in the making...application tuned
-precision machined extended reach housing, restoring factory preload to factory spring rates
-Resets chain guide load to exact factory pressure, where it was when the engine was new
-restores TCT piston positioning in the TCT housing
-restores worm gear positioning in the piston and preload
-linear pressure: tightens as engine RPM increases
-anti-cavitation modification: Oil inflow into the TCT is drawn off a 40 degree internal machined ramp, just as you would pour a drink down the side of a glass. Eliminates air in the TCT, and piston retraction when oil pressure is low at idle.
-ease of install, no retracting bolt. Simply install and pull the pin
-lifetime guarantee, which includes personal technical support to your individual case.
PM for order info...

Yeah, pop it in and pull the pin!

Pulling the pin on the Honda OEM and Billman GenX is a little scary. I was concerned it would fall into the engine! Use needle nose pliers with teeth. The Balade version uses a bolt to hold the pistol in the housing and that's unscrewed to release the pistol; no pin.

There was much forum discussion on the Billman vs Balade units a while ago that disintegrated into name calling and challenges. I ain't reviving that but I chose the Billman GenX unit.

There is evidence (reports here) of new OEM TCTs failing very soon after installation.

There are lots of threads on TCT's

I'm not trying to start another debate. I personally run Inline Pro TCT's in both of my motors. No issues. they are also life time guarantee and only $195 plus shipping.
