Tein problem
Hi. I have a set of Tein RA coilovers on my car. Recently, all the shock oil just leaked out of the rear drivers side one. The coilovers have about 5k street miles on them which include one very easy track event. Does Tein have any sort of warranty? How would I go about getting this repaired? Thanks!
Oh no, here we go. A Tein has damper leaked lending proof that ALL Tein's leak....and rust for that matter.
They have a rebuild facility here in the US at:
Tein USA, Inc.

I think you'd need to discuss how much they will charge you with them. Call them, the phone number is there.

Why pay someone to do it, when it is such a simple task. I am sure I could have mine out in an hour. Of course I would have to leave the car on jack stands until they were fixed, then I could have them installed again in another hour. Once the car is suspended, and the wheels are off, I think there are only 2 nuts to remove at the top of each coilover, 1 bolt at the bottom of each coilover, and 2 bolts for each of the front upper A arms that need to be removed.

Tein offers 1 year warranty on all of their coilover. They can rebuild the shocks for free as long as their fault. Which I have had a customer of mine (s2000- use it for track) purchased a set of Tein coilover from me(I'm an authorized dealer) and we installed it on his car(we have done over 30sets before). And the problem occur, so I give no doubt to my customer. And we took out the coilover for him for (free of charge). Shipped it back to Tein, and Tein sent it back to Tein, Japan. They examed it, and realized it was their fault. The reimburst us the shipping on everything and 2-3 weeks later. We received the coilover back from Tein USA. And the system have never leaked again.
If you did not buy it from an authorized dealer - You may run into problems
If you did not get it installed by an authorized dealer - You may run into problems
This is not what you want to hear. But when things go wrong, and more work and someone else have to pull money out of their pocket or time and effort into things. They tend to put up with the blame or point fingers. Or even denial.
I would def. stay calm and talk things over with the guys at Tein. They are very cool and very reasonable. I hope you can find a solution.

Tein guy was really cool (I briefly talked with him to explore my options without the warranty). I would have to agree with that, but what do you think about the Teins leaking all the time? It seems like a common problem, and it sucks for someone like me. I have to go home and check my receipt, but I think my warranty ran out like a month ago. Most likely, it started leaking long long time ago, but I just didn't notice it. I don't track or nothing, so I don't look at the bottom of my car very much. Just an everyday driver, so I would have never noticed it, but I happened to take my car to an informal place for an oil change where they don't care if you stand underneath your car. I always took it to a Honda dealer before for an oil change, so I don't get lip service from them later about the warranty.
