I just picked up a used set of s techs, and am planning on installing them tomorrow. They didn't come with instructions so I'm just wondering if there are any key aspects to this install that I'm missing out on.

1) cutting bumpstops, how much?
2) dust cover, do I still use it?

And any other install info is greatly appreciated

1) I cut half of the bumpstop.
2) I used the dust covers.

 

I heard also getting drive shaft spacers is recommend when lowering the car too. sorry that's off topic but I thought I would just throw that in.

 

+1 otherwise they will get worn out.

K looks like I will definately cut the bump stops, can anyone confir
it should be cut in half?

Also, about the driveshaft spacers/swapping buckets, I'm definAtely in to save some dollars, but of course swapping the buckets is only cheaper if you could DIY right? My friend and I are definately not idiots when it comes to diy, but were also not mechanics either. I did read through the swap diy and it seems a little trickier than it might be? Do the half shafts really need to come off completely? Will I actuAlly need to get the joint separator? How hard is the swap REALLY?

My 04 ap2 only has about 33K KM (20k milesish). Should I install the teins first and see if they work fine, and swap down the road when the vibrations come, or just do it all at once?

 

The instructions in the box will tell you how much to cut. If I remember correctly one set you do not cut and the other two you cut .2.

Well that is why I'm asking, I bought them used and they did not come with instructions...

 

Here are the instructions from the Tein website. They don't show the spec sheet for the car, so I went to look at mine. Front says A-0.2 / Rear - None. So you need to cut .2 off the bottom part of the front bumpstop. Do not cut anything on the rear.
