3bars is normal for my 02. Occasionally on cold mornings it will go from 3 to 2 when i turn on the heat, i shut off the heat until its good and warmed up and it doesn't happen again. once my s2k overheated going up a long upgrade in the summer in southern cali at high speed that was the only time it ever went above 3 bars to 4.
