Default Test Pipe add different sound?

Well right now I have the K&N Intake. Which sounds AWESOME! The loudest intake ever. I will eventually get exhaust but first would like to purchase a test pipe. Does a test pipe add any kind of sound difference. And if it does, how would it sound with my setup... Deeper? Also, whats a good test pipe, I mean really, its just a pipe what can be different between the Invidia, Berk, T1R, J's?

I have a T1R, and it made a dramatic difference in the sound of my Fujitsubo.

Not sure about stock....

With a test pipe, expect more of a hollow sound. With the stock exhaust, something kinda similar to a 350Z/G35ish. It's makes the pitch a little higher. I'm running a TP w/ the Greddy Ti-C and love the sound! It does make it louder but also eliminates the deeper tone which some people consider "droning" and adds a hollow sounding wail!

As for which TP, Berks is a quality piece. Added benefit is that it has the check engine light eliminator built in. You can use a spark plug fouler w/ other TPs to eliminate the CEL too.

Cool thanks for the feedback. I'm sure matched with a K&N I will be producing a very interesting sound. One more question. What are some good sits you guys shop on for mods? I have a hard time finding some of the parts that are mentioned on the site. Even on ebay.

I have a resonated test pipe I will be switching out for the invidia non resonated. Before I do this I will take some videos of the difference if there is any. Right now I have the resonated tp, and straight pipes to the HKS Hi-Power mufflers. Sounds good and kind of loud but I like it. Still has a good deep sound to it.

A test pipe made my exhaust a little louder and deeper (I have a Blitz exhaust and Invidia test pipe). My only complaint is between 3500-4000rpm sometimes I get the "can of bees" note from the exhaust. Other than that it is worth it

Digging up an old thread...

I got the Berk's. Quality piece. No CEL. Bryan and his team are excellent people.

With my stock exhaust, my car sounds very much like a 350Z/G35 when I hit the gas. Raspy. The car sounds mean at WOT, but very close to stock with regular driving. I like it a lot.

But my car smells horrible now when I'm in a garage or waiting at a stop. I can't help but think I'm giving myself cancer.

I like my t1r testpipe, it has flanges for bolting your cat's heat shields around it. Looking under my car you would think there was a cat...but there isnt.
