thermostat

Thumbs down thermostat

f**k, i tried bleeding the system today for 2 hours and no luck. the bottem hose is still cold.
i boiled the thermastat and it open at 80c......

anyone had this problem!!!!

Check the rad for cold spots...could be blocked, requiring a flush/new rad.

Did you bleed it from the heater tube? The one on the rear firewall, top, dead center? There is a black rubber cap with a clamp on it.

i have a RHD, i dont have that heater tube on the fire wall!!
i bleed it from the niple on the intake maini!!

i have to get this done, i am goin gfor my tune on monday!!!!

i am just thinking of takeing the thermostat out...
anyone did this

thermostat out = worse gas mileage if youre gonna drive for short distances + no vtec for longer....

For vtec to 'activate' (haha) the computer makes sure the engine is warm enough. If the engine isn't hot your redline will be at about 6k rpm. Without the thermostat installed the engine will have to warm up all of your coolant, while its flowing through the radiator. With the thermostat in, the engine is just heating up the coolant surrounding it first, then slowly letting it by the thermostat and past the radiator to cool down.

so true on a cold morning!!!!!!!
thats the worst feeling when you hit 6 and the car "stuters"

You have a heater, and RHD or LHD makes no differance. I can see the vent location in your avatar picture. So look for what I am teling you to look for. It is there, I see. It is the high point in the coolant system.

The intake port is lower. To bleed it right, you need to bleed both.
