I have a spoon thermostat and fan switch. Now that I have the AEM EMS I don't need the low temp operation to fool the ECU. I'm leaving it in for now because it's to much work to change it out.

The heater works fine. If the temp guage says 2 bars and the car is warmed up, the ECU won't hinder your progress to Vtec..

Seems like a lot of people think:

1) if too hot is bad, then cooler must be better
2) expensive aftermarket parts must have some advantage

Both are not necessarily true, and in fact often untrue.

You won't have any problems, and the oil will get hot enough unless you only do short hops. The temp is not that low like the Spoon, and I have done temperature measurements and as an oil guy I am not at all concerned. See my sig.

I've had the Mugen fan switch, thermostat and the radiator cap for about 2 1/2 years and never had a problem. The S runs on 3 bars tops. I also use Water Wetter in the radiator.
