its a K&N Intake.. took it out to clean it today and mod some stuff and saw this...

Turbonator ®?

Doesn't look like an original K&N part.
But I could be wrong as I only use the drop-in filter.

Yeah thats one of those tornado air things that does nothing. Take that piece of crap out is is probably restricting air flow.

cant take it out... is semi-welded to the pipe

i say get a flat head and put it on the welded parts and give it a few good wacks with a hammer haha

Reach in there with a Dremel tool and grind off the weld.

Why would you want to take out the Turbonator? You'll be sacrificing at least 10 mpg and 50 HP.

I've seen those tornado things in OEM 4x4 air filters.
Also, Dyson uses the priciple.
So, use longer springs and shocks, install front wheel drive (use Accord parts, it should be possible), extend the air intake to ground level and you'll have 4x4 Dyson S2000.
