Default thinking about a CAI but .....

something is holding me back.
Now i am quite aware i should do a search and i did! but i got bored so i decided to post
i was thinking of getting a CAI and i hear they can add up to +15 hp on a dyno BUT some things are better working at low speed than high speed. (dont give me a lecture on how CAI's work.... i know) so if i get one... is there any chance it can be less than a +15hp gain or more ?
I have talked this over with a few friends and most of them think i wont get +15hp out of it... as they say they dont work so well at high speed ! ( i think this is ) anyway can some one clear this up for me.
thanks

PS: Sorry for going over this CAI again but i would rather get flamed than waste money on a hunk of metal.

CAI's will not get you that +15 HP, it'll prolly give +10 if that. The best thing it'll really do is help out the engine breathe easier. I just purchased mine a bit over a month ago and I love it. The car sounds much better now with it on and helps out a bit on the low end when taking off from a stop. I went with Injen since I helped my friend put his on & was pretty easy. We both haven't had any problems with it.

I got mine from www.adventon.com for 215 + 20 shipping. Cheapest place I could find.

Expect to get 5-7 whp and 5+ wtq on a dyno from the AEM lookalikes (others can post results for other intakes). More can be reasonably expected at speed, but how much more no one has taken the time to figure out...
