Default Sorry! But I have a CAI Question?

I spent the last hour researching about which is the best CAI to buy. I used the search feature and it helped quite a bit but I still dont have a difinitive answer. Which CAI do you guys think is the best? I'd prefer not to do any cutting. I had trouble finding any info on the Spoon one. Well I'm sorry again for bringing this topic up again but maybe new ones have come out. This will be my first engine mod to my car and I didn't want to bungle it up.

Injen gives a couple more HP than AEM, but both run the risk of sucking up water (if you aren't careful). The others don't show as much of a gain but still produce a modest HP increase with the benefit of the intake being higher off the ground.

I just installed the Comptech CAI and I love it. The install was very straight-forward (you can go look at the instructions on the Comptech site - www.comptechusa.com). The engine sound is incredible and the fit is very good.

I strongly disagree with your statement. The "others" implies all other intakes aside from the AEM and INJEN do not perform as well. I will stake my PRM against any other intake available in the US. I have the "real world" at speed results to prove it. No cutting either and the distance between the MAF and filter is the shortest of any available aftermarket intake (that I've seen). For those PRM newbies, I've written a few threads worth of info...search engine will fill ya in. A great choice for those who do NOT want to do any cutting.

Thanks alot for the replies guys, I'm still a bit uncertain though. I heard that some of the CAI's have stuff to prevent hydrolocking but I dunno which. that PRM one looks real nice and Russ seems really happy with it. whats the pricing on that one?

I'm still confuse why people are so paranoid about hydrolocking. I had an AEM intake on my Prelude for 4 years in Vancouver where it rains all 4 seasons. Unless you drive into a pool of water and drown yourself in it, it's pretty hard to suck all those water up. Hydrolocking is rare, putting on a CAI doesn't mean the next time it rain your car will develop hydrolocking.

Russ' got me very interested in the PRM. After all he made the right choice in color I'll enjoy the car in stock form a little longer before I slap on a CAI. I can't drive a car without a CAI

I know it takes a lot for hydrolocking to happen but its a risk i'd rather not take. Hey Russ give us some info on the PRM CAI. How does the simple looking Spoon CF CAI stand up against the AEM or PRM CAI.
