Default Throttle Bodies: Waste Of Time?

Is it worth the money? Also I have seen threads regarding the differences between the Spoon TB and the Proflow. Is there a SIGNIFICANT difference in performance between the Two to justify the additional cost of the Spoon?

The difference in cost doesn't come from performance or TB response. It comes from the TB itself. The Spoon is a reworked TB. The P-flow is your TB being sent in to get reworked. Spoon you can go back, P-flow there is no turning back.

Update:

I just got an email reply from Proflow:

"We do make a new butterfly to match the larger bore size. These are match fitted individually, and are made from polished stainless steel. We also modify the shaft to accept flush fasteners instead of the stock button head screws which stick up into the air path. We also recalibrate the TPS sensor and also provide instructions with the unit so that if it is set at a point which is quite a bit different than thestock one (they vary considerably from Honda), it will allow you to as closely match your stock setting"(according to Jim@proflow).

I will be getting a Proflow throttle body for my car to go along with my Vortech Supercharger.

Ericksracing.com

Around $400 with no core exchange. 68 or 70mm choices. And you get to keep yours. Sounds good to me!!!!

From all that I've read, it is absolutely the least bang for the buck. Do a search about worst modifications and you will find throttle bodies mentioned a couple of times.

However, I saw a picture of a shiny one. That caught my attention.

While it might be true, it doesn't logically make sense that a larger throttle body would improve throttle response. It can only make an improvement at or near wide-open. Off that, it would slow velocity (and throttle response.) ...at least in theory.

It doesn't hurt to try the Proflow for $150 IMO....
