Default throttle body cleaning

Are there any special instructions on cleaning an s2k throttle body cleaning? Obviously use throttle body cleaner. Is there anything to be careful or watch out for? Thanks! Nothing wrong, just used to doing this as regular maintenance on other vehicles. Is it even needed?

Copying my post from the "Warning" thread above

On my first car (bulletproof cast iron block), I remember dumping a can of throttle body cleaner in the TB - started the car with plumes of smoke. It was definitely smoother, but I wouldn't do that to an S2000. At most, I would spray some throttle body cleaner on a rag and clean in and around the throttle plate and leave it at that.

We all know about our special cylinder walls - its not worth risking damage to them by spraying products that strip them of lubricant.

The only fuel system cleaner I have used on the S2k at all has been an occasional can of BG44k in a full tank of gas. If you have a lot of miles on the car the part I would focus on the most is having the injectors tested and cleaned. At 165,000 miles mine were flowing about 70% of what they should and back to OEM spec after cleaning.

That is my next step. Did anyone have issue with the clips breaking for the injectors when they were pulled? Is it recommended to replace those during the process?
