I've got some dyno sheets on a turbo S2k making 500+ whp with a stock throttle body. I think you're $$ is spent better elsewhere.

i would say that it depends on howmuch your paying.

If you can clean out the TB (if it needs it) for cheap then that has to be better than one with sludge in it.

But its prolly easier said than done.

Cleaning is a bit different than boring oversize. Which is what most "ported" throttle bodies are.

This is not a carbuerator. Throttle bodies are air inlet 'throttlers' that are then measured for air flow to be mixed with the fuel from the injectors. You can do all you want to 'up' the air flow through the throttle body, but, if the air/fuel management system is not up to snuff about realizing any air/fuel increase, nothing will happen other than a detriment. You can't make arbitrary changes without consequences. If you change the injectors for a higher rate of fuel, then do the corresponding tuning for air....and on...and on. The S2000 is already highly tuned so be careful from here on. Research everything!!!! Bling will kill your car, if you aren't careful!!

Cleaning isn't goint to change the dimension of the thottle plate. I'm a little doubtful that polishing the inside of the TB to go back on a stock intake will do little more than use up some polishing compound.

dude i wasnt suggesting that cleaning would change the dimensions, i was merely suggesting that if he wanted to work on the TB , and was feeling iffy about spending big bucks getting it bored, then he could clean it, which would help if it was clogged in any way.
