I had another failure at the track this past weekend. Getting back to full throttle the engine shuts down and VSA, /!\ and CEL all came on. Car went into limp mode. Stays that way after restart and clearing codes.

This is the second time this has happened. The fix the first time was replacing the throttle body but I can't image that throttle bodies should be failing this quickly! (This one only has a few track weekend on it). Both were bored out but that doesn't seem like it should cause anything to fail in the DBW system?

Throttle Position Sensor already replaced with factory new unit that last time this happened to no effect.

I can get another throttle body but I feel like there is another underlying issue that is causing the failures.

Would it be worth replacing the wiring harness (or parts of it)

Tips on troubleshooting this part of the electrical system?

Would check pins on ecu plugs have no loose connections or popped out of connectors.sounds connector related, <somewhere>
prob done that already though!

 

Thanks. That was my thought also since it tends to happen coming off rumble strips at speed. I've spent so much time trying to trace wiring and look for frayed cables and checking connectors. No luck yet. Sooooo frustrating!
