Default Ticking noise coming from engine bay

2001 s2000, 7xxcc injectors.
Tapping noise, pretty noticeable. Can't exactly remember when it started to be honest. Yet to do compression test, my friend has my tester and is taking forever to return it. Doesn't seem to get louder when in higher revs but I might not be able to hear it. I've mishifted going down on gears a few times, never past redline but makes me worry about mechanical overrev.

Video of the noise.
Any input appreciated as always, thanks!

The mics on phones and such aren't so great, but it really sounds like your injectors cycling. Aftermarket injectors can be loud. Or, it could be tapping from your intake valves. Have you ever had the valves adjusted?

The TCT area seems quiet.

I haven't had my valves adjusted for a while now. I guess if the compression test comes back clean get a valve adjustment. I know no one can really tell for sure but just was wondering if anyone could hear if it was valve tapping just from sound.

Also forgot to add, when lightly giving gas it will misfire but press harder and it vanishes.

A misfire will get you a cel warning. Do you have a yellow light on your dash.

I suspect valves unless the ticking increases with RPM and sounds like a card in spokes.

I don't get any cels due to AEM ecu, ordered a serial to USB converter cable last night.
If the ticking doesn't increase with rpm then it's probably valves?
Doesn't really sound like a card in spokes to me.

Nah, the valves would make the ticking faster with RPM.

Injectors, too. Really just about anything that would tick in the engine would get faster with RPM.
