In the 2nd video,it sounds like a TCT to me.
Of course, you know that these engines aren't that quiet when everything is right....Even with properly adjusted valves and a new or rebuilt TCT.

Thanks for the responses... really hoping its not the start of something serious.

Odd part too, those videos were taken after 1 drove about 10 km's (at low rpm's) It was very cold that morning. But, the day before after driving about 20 - 30 mins it was very faint if not gone.

I'll keep searching, but there's so many damn ticking noises that resemble this

This is why it's up to you to zero in on where the noise is coming from. You say you can't hear it under the hood. If it were TCT or valves or piston slap, these would be quite evident under the hood. If you were in Calgary, you could come to one of our car club meets on Sat. mornings and I'd listen to it. That's the best way to home in on the problem. Not knowing where it's coming from and with only a generic video, will make it nearly impossible to better categorize what's going on.
For the time being, it seems like it's only a very faint ticking and as such, I really doubt it's something that is immanently dangerous. I've heard a lot of these sorts of faint ticking and all of them turned out to be nothing except in the mind of the owner.

BTW, being very cold and driving 10 km will warm things up fine. I've driven this thing at -38*C and after 10 km, operating temps is not a contributing factor.

Id certainly take you up on your offer if i wasn't on the east coast Haha. Thanks tho.

Main concern is a bearing issue. I've got a friend checking it out this afternoon.

You're right tho, could very well be nothing serious

If you pay close attention you will hear it under your hood too. It just sounds a bit different because ticking is mixed with all other noises. Let me know what you find on this....

Evap control solenoid is what Im hearing or something like that. Had a guy who builds engines for a living have a listen to it and doesn't believe its anything mechanical. Ticking doesn't change with rpm. Can't be heard with the hood popped at all. Sound can really only be heard on drivers side.

Ill post if i find anything else out
