That's an extreme and incorrect generalization. On my Prelude, I wore one set of tires from the middle first. Why? Because they had soft sidewalls, so I over-inflated them to compensate. If you have zero camber and some toe-in, you're probably going to wear the outsides first. Alternatively, if you don't have enough camber, but you track the car or corner hard on the streets, you'll also wear the outsides first.

My Accord sedan wears the tires perfectly evenly because it has zero toe, almost zero camber and it's a daily driver that I don't drive that hard (usually).

holy hell. when i first got the car, i drove pretty gently, but in the past year, i have driven fairly aggressively the majority of the time. my fronts still have at least 50%, and i did replace the rears at about 21k miles. i'm at 32k and expect to have to change all 4 in about another 7-10k miles...

do you guys do burnouts or something?

^mine lasted all of 6K. Stupid UK-spec alignment. Drives like a dream but worse gas mielage (lots of scrubbage from agressive toe-in) and TERRIBLE tire life.

Im going to 0-rear toe in next

I'm about to roll over 22K miles on mine and I'm ready for my 5th set of tires. Mine last about 5-7K on average. However, most of my street tires also pulled double-duty as autocross and/or track tires. And I generally run the UK alignment (with a little extra camber).
