Default toda cam gears

I putting money aside to purchase Toda Cam gears. My only worry is because it's only a 4-bolt design will it slip? Has anyone with Toda cam gears have slippage problems?

Todas cam pulleys have six bolts..

They seem to be the only option for adjustable cam timing on the market (maybe due to chain-driven). Anything else is probably custom.

What are they talking about when they say the std cams are made from solid blanks and theirs are hollow.

Std cams are hollow!

All the pics that I've seen before showed only 4 bolts............I guess I was looking at the wrongs pics before. Thanks for the pic confirmation. So back to the first question.......with 6 bolts I know chances of slippage are greatly reduced but has anyone had those problems?

One more thing to consider is these gears will be submerged in oil increasing the likely hood of slipping if the bolts are not torqued properly. soft grade locktite should help.

does anyone know if the toda cam gears have the spring inside them? it looks to me like they do not have anything like that? what do people think of its inability to reduce whiplash? this is the first cam gear that i have seen that has this functionality so maybe it's not that important? Maybe its just a noise thing?

Can someone describe how exactly it works in relation to the two halves?

Submerged? What are you talking about. Try coated, but they will never be submerged.

Now my question to the OP, why do you think you need adjustable cam gears any way? Are you running an adjustable ECU? (AEM EMS, K-Pro)

They will not slip unless you under torque them by some stupid amount. The only TODA set I saw had some redundancy built into it, if you pulled the two pieces apart there was some grooves that would only allow for the movement in 1/2 to 1 degree increments. Thus these degreed grooves held the forces and not the bolts. I have not seen a set for an S2000 yet though.
